About PlanMyParty

PlanMyParty is a UK venue search platform. It helps people find and book somewhere to hold a party or event — a kids' birthday, a christening reception, a milestone birthday, an anniversary — and it helps venue owners get found by the people looking.

The problem we set out to solve is a familiar one. Finding a party venue in the UK normally means searching a map, opening a dozen tabs, and then ringing round to ask the same five questions each time: do you take forty people, are you free on the 14th, what does it cost, can we bring our own cake, is there parking. There was no single place to compare venues on the things that actually decide the booking.

PlanMyParty brings those venues together in one search, filtered by the things that matter — party type, guest count, location, venue type and the services a venue offers — so you can shortlist properly before you pick up the phone.

Search results come from two places, and we distinguish between them clearly.

Registered venues are venues whose owners have signed up to PlanMyParty and provided their own details — descriptions, photographs, capacity, packages, pricing and availability. These are verified before they appear, and you can enquire or request a booking through the site.

Other venues are drawn from publicly available business listing data so that your search is useful even in areas where few venues have registered with us yet. These carry the information available publicly, and you contact them directly.

Registered venues are shown first, because they carry richer and more reliable information. We do not accept payment for placement in search results.

We think it is fair to be plain about this.

PlanMyParty is free for party planners. There is no charge to search, no booking fee, and no commission added to what a venue quotes you.

It is also free for venue owners to list. We do not charge a listing fee or take a commission on bookings made through the site. Our view is that a venue directory is only worth using if it is reasonably complete, and charging venues to appear works against that.

The site is supported by advertising, and we intend to introduce optional paid features for venue owners in future. Where advertising appears, it is labelled and kept visually distinct from our own content. Advertisers have no influence over search results, over which venues are shown, or over what our guides say. Alongside the venue search we publish party planning guides — practical, UK-specific writing on what venue hire costs, what to ask before you book, how many guests actually fit in a room, and what changes when you are planning for a one-year-old rather than a fiftieth.

They are written in-house from the questions people genuinely ask venues. They contain no affiliate links and no paid placements, and no venue can pay to be mentioned in one.

PlanMyParty is operated by EASPECT CONSULTING LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, based in Bedford.

We are a small team, which means we read what people send us. If a venue's details are wrong, if something on the site is broken, or if there is a guide you wish existed, we would genuinely like to hear about it.

If you run a venue that hosts parties — a restaurant, a function room, a village hall, an activity centre, a hotel — you can list it on PlanMyParty free of charge. You control your own description, photographs, packages and availability, and enquiries come to you directly.
